According to reports, the speculation that both died while having intercourse in the vehicle is false. It is said that the duo were said to be secret lovers. It is reported that the man allegedly beat the woman to death in her Akoka residence in Lagos over a yet-to-be ascertained misunderstanding and took the corpse in the vehicle to that spot and, thereafter, ended it all.
Recall that residents of the area noted that the vehicle with a helmet on the dashboard, was seen parked on the road side on Monday, only for them to go closer to it on Tuesday morning and discovered that the occupants had died, giving rise to the speculation that they died making love.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday, the image maker of the Ogun State police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi said;
“it was a case of murder and suicide. The two did not die while having sex. What happened was that the woman in question happened to be the man’s mistress, and he rented an apartment for her somewhere in Lagos. He went there to visit her. We don’t know what transpired between them, but we learnt that he h!t the woman with an object on the head and she slumped and died.
While people in the neighborhood ran to report the incident to the police at Ilaje Division, the man had carried the lifeless body of the woman in his vehicle and zoomed off. He drove straight to his house at Orimerunmu, where he dropped a s#!c!de note, informing his wife that he had k!lled somebody and, as such, the wife should not bother looking for him.”
According to the PPRO, he directed his wife to take care of their children. He then left the house, drove to NASFAT area, parked and ended his life. The Police spokesman further stated that a poisonous substance was found in the vehicle which indicated that he consumed it, wound up the glasses and d!ed in the vehicle.
